Getting Started
The PADI entry level course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills they need to safely gain experience in the diving environment and ultimately to SCUBA dive independently. The course is performance-based and designed to take students through simple to complex learning objectives.
The course consists of academic sessions which are based upon the PADI SCUBA Diver Manual and Video. The sessions are self-directed sessions in which the student will read the SCUBA Diver Manual and view the SCUBA Diver video in the comfort of his/her home and then attend a Chapter review classroom session.
There are a number of water skill development sessions and/or pool dive sessions. There are five Open Water training dives; three of which will be conducted at Lake Denton in Avon Park, Florida and two in the ocean environment near Pompano Beach, Florida

Be in good health and have none of the pre-existing conditions contained in the medical history portion of the student record file; or, if the student has any of the conditions listed in the medical history of the student record file, the student has the written approval to participate in the diving course by a physician licensed to practice medicine in the State of Florida.
